Almost a Year Later

With July 4, 2012 coming up, I realized I hadn't even scrapped any of the photos from last year's July 4th. So, I whipped out the All American Summer kit from Design by Dani that I bought for the red, white, and blue celebrations. It was perfect for last year's photos of our local parade. I especially love the pinwheels.

Cathy Zielske's Project Life

I am also a huge fan of Cathy Zielske. This week on her blog, she shared a great story about how her daughter was showing the Zielske's Project Life album to a friend. It's a must-read, especially for those of you who wonder why we put so much effort into doing Project Life.

Online Friends

Today I completed a challenge I found on Peppermint Creative - the Pimp My Page Challenge. It provides a template, which you then use to with your own photos, papers, and embellishments. I love template challenges because it gives me a chance to try something that I might not have designed myself.

For example, with my Online Friends layout shown here, I don't normally use a lot of flowers all over the layout, but these flowers worked for the photos and with the colors and papers.

It's funny, but these pictures were taken back in September 2006, and I hadn't scrapped any of them, digitally or otherwise. So, I pulled them from the archives and completed this layout in about 30 minutes.

On another note, I've been eyeing the free with $10 purchase "Smile For Me" Kit on Scrapflower. I'll probably purchase Paula Kesselring & friends Game! Collab (that I have been eyeing for a week or two) as part of the shopping list. I've seen such cool layouts created with this kit, and I'm dying to try it out. There is also a nice mini kit called Secret Indulgences from Studio 68 that has some great touches that can be used on a variety of themed pages - love the brown silky flower!
